East Jessamine 29 Lincoln County 25

Final from Death Valley
East Jessamine 29
Lincoln County 25

Summary

It was homecoming tonight. Mia Bodner and Brody Baker were crowned queen and king at halftime.

At game time, it was sunny, 80 degrees, 64% humidity, and wind out of the northeast at 5 miles per hour. At the end of the game, the wind was blowing sheets of rain.

Tucker Foster, Trey Burkhart, Travis Master, and Jaxon Durham were the coin toss captains for the Patriots. They won the coin toss and deferred to the second half.

It was a penalty-marred contest from start to finish, but was played on pretty even terms, with each team scoring four touchdowns.

However, missed PATs by Lincoln County and successfully executed two-point conversions by East Jessamine was the difference in the game.

Senior quarterback Tucker Foster had a huge night, rushing for 144 yards and two touchdowns, while also passing for two TDs. One of his touchdown runs was an electrifying 83-yard scamper that started up the middle and then finished down the home sideline, outracing the defenders.

Our InterCounty Energy Lineman of the Game is junior EJ Dunagan.

Our Guardian Exterminating and Bee Green Lawn Care Player of the Game is senior Levi Grubbs with his first career touchdown catch.

The Lincoln County Daily News dot Com Play of the Game is Tucker Foster’s 83-yard scoring run.

Lincoln County head coach Levi Rogers told WPBK-FM after the game, “We just made too many mistakes. We committed too many penalties, and we even snapped the ball once on a freeze play. We have a lot to clean up.”

When asked about East Jessamine’s pressure on quarterback Tucker Foster, he said, “We had a little trouble picking them up. They were blitzing (line)backers and that left us with one-on-one blocking.”
