Stanford Police officer receives minor injuries in collision

A Stanford Police officer was involved in a collision Thursday evening, according to Kentucky State Police.

KSP was contacted just before 5 p.m. Thursday, April 2 in regards to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of U.S. 150 and U.S. 27.

KSP troopers, as well as emergency medical personnel responded to the scene.

According to the preliminary investigation, SPD Officer John Williams was traveling east on U.S. 150 in a Dodge Durango police cruiser. As Williams proceeded through the intersection, a 2018 red Cadillac XT5 was traveling west on U.S. 150 and attempted to make a left-hand turn onto U.S. 27.

The driver of the Cadillac was identified as Joan Hackley. Hackley disregarded a traffic control device and struck the Dodge Durango.

Both Williams and Hackley were transported to Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford for minor injuries as a result of the collision. They have both been released from the hospital.

KSP Trooper Bailie Wilson is overseeing the ongoing investigation. She was assisted on scene by KSP Post 7 personnel, the Stanford Police Department, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Lincoln County EMS and the Stanford Fire Department.
