The Stanford Walmart has been evacuated following a bomb threat, according to Stanford Police.
Police Chief Zach Middleton said as of 8 p.m. Thursday the threat is unsubstantiated.
“The store has been evacuated and there are no injuries to report,” the department posted on Facebook. “At this time the threat is unsubstantiated.”
Police are asking the public to avoid the area while they clear the scene.
“Only Walmart property is affected at this time,” the department said. “If anywhere else needs to be evacuated they will be advised accordingly. No further evacuations are expected at this time.”
Walmart in Stanford will be closed Thursday night until further notice.
The Stanford Fire Department is also on scene.
