Waynesburg man indicted for criminal attempt to commit murder

A Lincoln County grand jury has indicted a man on one count of criminal attempt to commit murder related to an incident in November.

David R. Baldrick, 45, of Waynesburg was indicted by a Lincoln County grand jury on Jan. 9, according to court records.

Baldrick was indicted on one count of criminal attempt to commit murder following an incident on Nov. 22 during which he allegedly attempted to murder his girlfriend.

He did so by “intentionally cutting her with a knife causing serious physical injury and with the intent to cause her death,” the indictment states.

Deputy Aaron Steele testified for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

Baldrick’s bail was set at $100,000 and he is to have no contact with the victim. He is currently lodged in the Casey County Detention Center.

The grand jury said they believe Baldrick to be a danger to the community, himself or others and requested the court set a high bond.

The following people were also indicted by a Lincoln County grand jury on Jan. 9:

• Kayla M. Howell, 33, of Hustonville: two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument for knowingly and unlawfully possessing and passing a forged check/instrument on Sept. 12 in the amount of $500 and $700 drawn on Farmers National Bank; one count of criminal possession of a forged instrument for knowingly and unlawfully possessing and passing a forged check/instrument on Sept. 13 in the amount of $500 drawn on Farmers National Bank; one count of criminal possession of a forged instrument for knowingly and unlawfully possessing and passing a forged check/instrument on Sept. 5 in the amount of $900 drawn on Farmers National Bank; and one count one count of criminal possession of a forged instrument for knowingly and unlawfully possessing and passing a forged check/instrument on Sept. 30 in the amount of $450 drawn on Farmers National Bank made to the order of James Lopez. Deputy Ron Luster testified for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. Bond was set at $7,500.

• Anthony D. Taylor, 37, of Waynesburg: one count of receiving stolen property for having possession of moveable property (GMC truck) belonging to Don Yates on Oct. 9, valued at $1,000 or more, knowing that it had been stolen, or having reason to believe that it had been stolen and one count of being a persistent felony offender. Bond was set at $10,000. Trooper Seth Owens testified for the Kentucky State Police.

• Felicia A. Halcomb, 37, of Stanford: one count of receiving stolen property for having possession of moveable property (GMC truck) belonging to Don Yates on Oct. 9, valued at $1,000 or more, knowing that it had been stolen, or having reason to believe that it had been stolen. Bond was set at $5,000. Trooper Seth Owens testified for the Kentucky State Police.
