Lincoln County voters will get a chance to hear from candidates who will appear on the November election ballot during a Meet the Candidates forum on Sept. 22.
The forum is free and open to the public. It will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 22 at the Lincoln County High School auditorium.
The event, sponsored by the Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce, will give voters a chance to get to know local and state candidates before casting votes on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
LC Chamber Director Jenny Maloney said all candidates are invited to speak. Maloney said any candidate who would like to speak during the forum can contact her via email at director@lincolncokychamber.com and RVSP for the event.
“Every candidate gets three minutes to speak,” Maloney said. “School board candidates, city councils…I would love for those candidates to come out.”
Maloney said she is hoping candidates take advantage of this time to speak with voters.
As of this week there are about 10 to 12 candidates signed up to speak.
“The more the merrier,” Maloney said. “We will have plenty of room and it’s open to the public. I’m hoping it will be a really nice event. It’ll be nice, if you’re interested, to come and hear what people have to say.”
