LCSO charges 2 in animal cruelty incident

by Abigail Roberts

The Lincoln County Animal Shelter is in need of supplies after taking in over 80 animals following the arrest of two people on Monday.

Wanda S. Brock, 60 and Radford A. Brock, 44, both of 890 Ky. Hwy. 1948, were charged after Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call from the Lincoln County Dog Warden in reference to animal cruelty and hoarding.

When Deputy Logan Smith arrived at the residence on Sept. 15 he found numerous dogs in the front yard confined in crates and make shift pens, according to the arrest citation.

“The dogs had no access to food and water and was sitting in large amount of feces and urine,” the citation states. “There were many dogs in each crate with no space to spare.”

Smith said there were approximately 39 dogs on the exterior of the property.

Wanda Brock allegedly refused to let deputies inside the residence, prompting law enforcement to obtain a search warrant.

“Inside the residence an extremely large amount of cats and dogs was removed from the residence,” the citation states. “Extremely large amounts of feces and urine alone with debris was inside the residence where the dogs reside.”

Approximately 32 dogs and 10 cats were removed from the residence.

Both Wanda Brock and Radford Brock were charged with cruelty to animals.

They are scheduled to appear in court at 1 p.m. on Oct. 26.
