Crab Orchard family lost home to fire just before Christmas – here’s how you can help

by Abigail Roberts

It was a nightmare before Christmas, as one Crab Orchard family lost their home due to a fire this week.

While firefighters were able to save their presents and their pets, the family is still forced to start over just before Christmas.

Crystal and Curtis Brown have provided a way to help the family.

“They are safe, but they are starting over with three children and could use all the love and support we can give,” the Browns said on Facebook. “If you feel led to help, any donation, big or small, would mean more than words can express as they navigate the days ahead during what should be a joyful season.”

You can make donations to this verified Venmo account: mik3t24 (last 4 of phone # is 1011).

“Please be cautious and confirm before sending money,” they said. “If you’re unable to give financially, please consider sharing this post and keeping this family in your prayers. Thank you for showing up for them during an incredibly difficult time.”
