As is tradition in Stanford, following the Christmas parade downtown, a crowd gathered at the Lincoln County Courthouse steps Saturday night to watch the crowning of a new Snow Queen.
Alex Jones, 16, was crowned the 2025 Snow Queen. She was deemed the top candidate out of a field of 21 ladies vying for the crown. Contestants were judged on their personal appearance, interview and poise.
Jones, the daughter of Kim and Deano Jones of Stanford, was sponsored by Doug Gooch of A.G.E. and escorted by Hayden Byrd, son of Zonda Lawson and Eddie Byrd.

First runner-up in the Snow Queen contest was Carlee Weaver, 17, daughter of Coby and Jamie Jenkins. Her sponsor was Lincoln County HOSA and her escort was Braden Fugate, son of Brad and Lisa Fugate.
Audrey Foster, 17, sponsored by Future Business Leaders of America, was named the second runner-up in the Snow Queen contest. Foster, daughter of Daniel and Jenn Foster of Stanford, was escorted by Aiden Pike.
Third runner-up was McKenzie Shelton, 17, daughter of Stephanie and Jerry Shelton of Crab Orchard. She was sponsored by Shelton’s Electric and escorted by Tucker Foster, son of Amanda and Damon Foster.
Rosario “Zari” Ramirez, 14, daughter of Katlin Howard, was named the fourth runner-up in the Snow Queen contest. She was sponsored by Tuffy’s Spay and Neuter Clinic and escorted by Braiden Ford, son of Kierra Ford.
The judges recognized two additional ladies with honorary titles including Miss Sugar Plum and Miss Christmas Spirit.
Brooklyn Sexton, 17, daughter of Brittany Shackleford of Waynesburg, was named Miss Sugar Plum for her heart of gold and sugar plum charm. She was sponsored by Lincoln County High School Cheer team and escorted by Justin Mounce, son of Ben and Emily Harris.
Miss Christmas Spirit was given to Chasity Clark, 17, daughter of Stacey Clark and the late Kris Clark of McKinney. She was sponsored by Studio Ink Tattoo and escorted by Teegan Mullins, son of DJ and Lucinda Mullins.
