A Lincoln County man was airlifted to the hospital Saturday night after a firework malfunctioned.
The Crab Orchard Fire Department and Lincoln County EMS were called to Willow Lane at about 9:56 p.m. for a fireworks incident, according to Fire Chief Larry Owsley.
Trenton Bryant, of Crab Orchard, was transported to Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford before being airlifted to the University of Kentucky Hospital.
According to his mother, Angela Bryant, the firework malfunctioned and hit him in the groin and inner thigh. He was rushed to emergency Saturday night with more surgeries expected in the future.
“We need lots of prayers for my boy,” his mother said. “To see my boy lying there bleeding is a terrible thing. Thank you Lincoln EMS, Lincoln 911 and the air flight team.”
Bryant said her son has no medical insurance and his home, which includes his wife Steffanie and their young son, is a one-income household.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family through this difficult time.
