Lane closures to begin this week on U.S. 150

Closures for Highway Safety Improvement Project

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that temporary lane closures are set for a portion of U.S. 150 in Lincoln County beginning Monday, April 6, as part of the ongoing Highway Safety Improvement Project.

Work will require the closures of the east and westbound left (fast) lanes and median on U.S. 150 between the intersection of KY 300 (mile point 4.34) and the entrance to Dollar General/Tractor Supply Company (mile point 4.55). In addition, lefts turns will be prohibited onto U.S. 150 from KY 300 and the Dollar General/Tractor Supply Company entrance.

KYTC asks motorists to be aware of the work zone, expect delays, and to utilize safe driving habits when traveling through the area.

Work is part of the Highway Safety Improvement Project that will construct a Reduced Conflict U-Turn (RCUT) at the intersection of U.S. 150 and KY 300 to increase safety, efficiency and capacity. An RCUT intersection provides better sight distance, shorter wait times for traffic movements, and reduced crash rates. To learn more about RCUTs, and watch a video about navigating them, please visit the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s Safer Road Solutions website https://transportation.ky.gov/saferoadsolutions/Pages/RCUT.aspx.

The starting date may be adjusted for inclement weather or other unforeseeable delays. Motorists can access travel and traffic conditions at http://goky.ky.gov or contribute their own reports at www.waze.com or via the Waze mobile application.
