A Lincoln County man has been indicted by a grand jury for a stabbing incident that occurred in March.

Mark Anthony Isaiah Sanders, 21, of Mt. Vernon, was indicted on Oct. 13 by a Lincoln County grand jury on three counts of assault – domestic violence.

According to the arrest citation, LCSO Deputies were called to Old South Fork Road on March 17 for a report of a stabbing and an unresponsive male.

When deputies arrived, Sanders had fled the scene.

The preliminary investigation indicated that both Sanders and his step-father, Gilbert Graham, had been drinking and for unknown reasons became engaged in a physical altercation.

According to two other victims, Sanders struck Graham multiple times with a deer antler lamp and then “stomped on his head multiple times.”

“Graham suffered multiple injuries to his head to include lacerations and closed head injury (brain bleed),” the citation states. While trying to stop the fight, a female was knocked to the ground and believed to have broken her foot.

Another victim who tried to stop the altercation was stabbed in the thigh.

A knife was recovered from the scene.

Sanders was located and taken into custody. He allegedly told deputies he did hit Graham but stated that he blacked out and didn’t remember anything.

“He admitted the knife was his, however, didn’t remember stabbing his brother,” the citation states.

His brother, who was stabbed in the thigh, required stitches and the step-father required life support and was transported to the University of Kentucky Medical Center for intensive care.
