Some local veterans delivered on a summer promise recently, according to Lincoln County Property Valuation Administrator Mary Adams.
The group approached Adams and Lincoln County Clerk Nancy Jackson about their local mission during the Lincoln County Fair in July.
“When those gentlemen discovered I didn’t have a U.S. flag at my office, they said they’d be happy to bring one,” Adams said.
Post commander Randy Poling, Senior Vice-Commander Troy Whidden, and 3rd-Year Trustee/Sgt. at Arms Joe Fletcher delivered the promised flags on Friday, September 19, 2025.
“The local Post was well represented by Mr. Fletcher, as well as Quartermaster Mike Southerland,” Adams said. “Our county offices look forward to working with Stanford VFW Post 12240 to serve the community and the veterans who reside here.”
VFW Post 12240 is inviting all veterans of overseas conflict to their monthly meetings which will be held at 1 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month at 909 E. Main Street in Stanford.
