A skunk in Waynesburg has tested positive for rabies, according to the Lincoln County Health Department.

The skunk was found on Ky. Hwy. 328.

The Lincoln County Health Department says it is important to make certain your pets have a current rabies vaccination.

“Rabies is a fatal but preventable viral disease. It can be spread to people and pets through the bites and scratches of an infected animal,” the health department said on it’s Facebook page.

If your pet is not up to date on vaccines, please get them vaccinated immediately. If you have any questions, please call the Lincoln County Health Department at 606-365-3106.
