Two Kings Mountain residents indicted for engaging in organized crime, drug trafficking

Two Kings mountain residents were indicted for engaging in organized crime and multiple counts of drug trafficking in cocaine, marijuana, LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) and Ecstasy. 

A Lincoln County grand jury indicted Lauren A. Short, 33, and Sierra Owens, 31, both of Sims Ridge Road in Kings Mountain, on July 11, according to court records. 

Short and Owens were allegedly in possession of over 4 grams of cocaine and over five pounds of marijuana on March 29, as well as lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), and 10 dosage units of MDMA (Ecstasy). 

The indictments were firearm enhanced as both Owens and Short were allegedly in possession of a firearm while manufacturing, distributing, dispensing or selling narcotics. 

Owens and Short were also indicted on one count of use and investment of drug-related income as Short allegedly used and invested drug-related income from 2024 through March 2025 by utilizing income from the sale of narcotics and other controlled substances to obtain personal and real property. 

Both were also indicted on one count of engaging in organized crime by conducting themselves and other persons (totaling at least 3 people) with the intention to promote or engage in illegal trafficking in controlled substances on a continuing basis. 

Sgt. Eric Dean testified for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. Bond was set at $100,000 for each defendant. The grand jury believed the defendants to be a danger to the community and others and requested the court set a high bond.

• Roy E. Perry, 59, of Mt. Vernon: one count of escape second offense after escaping custody from the Lincoln County Courthouse on April 25 and one count of public intoxication. Bond was set at $25,000. Deputy Ron Luster testified for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. 

• Jacob R. Hall, 27, of Crab Orchard: one count of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) on April 3. Sgt. Matthew Hutti testified for the Kentucky State Police. Bond was set at $5,000. 

• Johnny S. Adkins, 45, of Waynesburg: one count of second-degree burglary on Dec. 3, 2023 by entering or remaining unlawfully at the home of Shirley Bunch with intent to commit a crime; one count of possession of a controlled substance, (methamphetamine); and one count of criminal mischief for destroying or damaging property belonging to Shirley Bunch of a value of over $1,000. Bond was set at $15,000. Deputy Ron Luster testified for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. 

• Timothy A. Folger, 67, of Waynesburg: one count of cultivating marijuana (enhanced by firearm) on Sept. 6, 2023 by knowingly and unlawfully planting and cultivating under two marijuana plants while in possession of a firearm. Deputy Ron Luster testified for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. Bond was set at $10,000. 

• Todd M. Folger, 40, of Waynesburg: one count of trafficking in a controlled substance (over two grams of methamphetamine) on Aug. 29, 2024; one count of possession of drug paraphernalia; one count of tampering with physical evidence; and one count of possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl). Deputy Ron Luster testified for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. Bond was set at $25,000. 

• Jeffery L. Johnson, 60, of Stanford: one count of burglary by unlawfully entering Sky Tower Automotive in Aug. 2024 with the intent to commit a crime and one count of theft by unlawfully taking property belonging to Jimmy Taylor of a value of over $1,000. Bond was set at $7,500. Deputy Ron Luster testified for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office

• Danny E. Cameron, II, 32, of Stanford: one count of theft by unlawfully taking property belonging to Jimmy Taylor of a value of over $1,000 in Aug. 2024. Bond was set at $5,000. Deputy Ron Luster testified for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
