LC Sheriff’s Deputies assist in multi-county high-speed pursuit

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies joined several agencies Friday night to assist with a multi-county high-speed pursuit.

Deputies Austin Price, Dustin Phillips and Aaron Steele assisted with the pursuit which began in Boyle County, according to LCSO Chief Deputy Michael Mullins.

Mullins said the Boyle County Sheriff’s Office was the lead agency in the pursuit. The suspect then led law enforcement through Lincoln County before ending in Casey County.

“Our units took the drone, however it was never deployed due to them taking the suspect into custody,” Mullins said.

The suspect remains unknown at this time but Casey County Sheriff Chad Combs released a statement commending the professionalism of all agencies involved in the pursuit.

“The professionalism, coordination, and dedication displayed by the Boyle County Sheriff’s Office, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police, Liberty Police Department and Bluegrass 911 Communications were nothing short of exceptional,” Combs said on Facebook. “Tonight was a clear example of multiple law enforcement agencies working together with a common purpose.”

The Boyle County Sheriff’s Office echoed those statements in a separate Facebook post.

“We appreciate Sheriff Combs and the Casey County Sheriff’s Office, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, and the Kentucky State Police for their assistance and cooperation in bringing this incident to a safe resolution,” the post reads. “We also appreciate Danville Dispatch and Bluegrass 911. Dispatchers are not often thought about when a pursuit takes place because they are behind the scenes, but they were very crucial last night. Your hard work does not go unnoticed.”

We will update this story with more information as soon as it is publicly released.
