One person was airlifted to the hospital following a three-vehicle collision in Lincoln County Wednesday night.
According to Chief Deputy Michael Mullins, deputies were dispatched at about 9:28 p.m. to the intersection of Ky. Hwy. 501 and U.S. 27 for a three-vehicle collision.
“Unit 1 was northbound when unit 2 was stopped to turn onto Ky. Hwy. 501,” Mullins said. “Unit 1 struck unit 2 causing it to go into the southbound lane where it struck unit 3.”
One male subject from unit 2 was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Hospital for head injuries, Mullins said.
The operator of unit 1 was admitted to Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford for minor injuries.
Mullins said the collision is under investigation and is being overseen by Deputy Logan Smith. Smith was assisted on scene by Mullins and Deputies Austin Price and Butch Phillips. The Lincoln County Fire Department and Lincoln County EMS also assisted on scene.
