The City of Hustonville hopes to make Halloween magical for every child in the area by providing a new sensory-friendly hour of trick-or-treating.
This year, Hustonville is introducing a dedicated sensory hour right before the traditional city-wide trick-or-treating.
“This ensures a calm environment for local children with autism, sensory processing differences or anxiety,” the city said on Facebook.
The sensory-friendly hour will take place from 3 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31
The city is excited to add this new addition to the holiday festivities.
“We are very excited and hope we get lots of kiddos,” said Hustonville City Clerk Robin Sullivan. “We want every child to enjoy Halloween and feel included.”
Sullivan said she hopes others come out and set up along Main Street to help give the kids a great Halloween experience.
Anyone interested in setting up and passing out candy on Main Street can contact City Hall during business hours at 606-346-2501.
The city’s traditional trick-or-treat will take place from 4 to 6 p.m.
