Jeremy Johnson was officially sworn in Friday as Stanford’s Interim Mayor.
The swearing in ceremony was held June 26 at Stanford City Hall.
Johnson will serve the remainder of the late Stanford Mayor Dalton Miller’s term. Miller passed away May 31 after a two-year battle with cancer. His term ends in Dec. 2026.
The Stanford City Council voted unanimously to appoint Johnson as Interim Mayor until voters choose a new Mayor in November.
Johnson is the pastor of Stanford Christian Church and also serves as the Chaplain for the Stanford Police Department.
Stanford City Hall posted on Facebook following the swearing in ceremony.
“Jeremy is no stranger to us at the city as he has served for many years as our chaplain and friend,” the post states. “Thank you so much for your willingness to serve in the transition months after the loss of Mayor Dalton Miller. Your gentle but solid spirit are so appreciated during this time.”
