FSNB company-owned aircraft aborts flight due to mechanical issues

A First Southern National Bank (FSNB) company-owned aircraft was forced to abort a take-off earlier this morning.

FSNB Corporate Spokesperson Suzanne Short said the company-owned aircraft, a Cessna Citation XLS, experienced mechanical issues during departure at the Danville-Boyle County Airport.

“We are thankful to confirm that everyone on board is safe and that there were no injuries,” Short said Friday afternoon.

Short said the company appreciates the professionalism of the pilot in following emergency procedures and aborting the flight.

“Safety is always our highest priority, and we are cooperating with the appropriate aviation authorities as they review the situation,” Short said.

The Danville-Boyle County Airport released a statement Friday, as well.

“At approximately 8:15 this morning (Friday, February 6), a Cessna Citation XLS was departing DVK’s runway 31 and encountered an issue,” the statement reads. “The pilots elected to abort the takeoff, resulting in the aircraft coming to a stop off the west end of the runway in the grass.”
