Stanford Fire Department receives equipment to save pets from fires

In October, the Stanford Fire Department rescued two dogs from a house fire and thanks to a new donation, they will be able to save even more pets in the future.

SFD has received a donated WAG’N 02 Fur Life Pet Oxygen Masks Kits from WAG’N 02.

“In light of recent local fires where pets have been successfully rescued from burning structures, these specialized masks will deliver oxygen to conscious pets affected by smoke inhalation or unconscious ones needing resuscitation from toxic fumes,” SFD wrote on Facebook.

While firefighters rescue pets from burning buildings, that’s not all that has to take place in order to save the pets.

“Proper equipment is essential for revival,” SFD said. “Losing a pet in a house fire is devastating; these kits equip our firefighters with a vital tool to enhance service to citizens and improve outcomes for injured pets in structure fires.”
