LCHD: WIC remains active, November SNAP funds yet to be released

The Lincoln County Health Department has compiled a list of food resources in Lincoln County as the federal shutdown continues to keep the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) in limbo.

LCHD said Monday, Nov. 3 that the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program remains active.

“WIC benefits remain active and the WIC program continues to operate as normal at this time,” LCHD said on it’s Facebook page Monday morning. “SNAP benefits that were already issued last month remain available for use but no new funds were released for the month of November.”

Anyone in need of food assistance can refer to the following list of local food resources:

“We understand the difficulties families who rely on WIC and SNAP benefits may be facing this month,” LCHD said. “The Lincoln County Health Department will continue to share information as it becomes available to us regarding those programs.”
